The Bucks Just Pulled Off a Basketball Miracle
The Milwaukee Bucks just pulled off a masterstroke of basketball management.
Yesterday, the Bucks signed Gary Trent Jr. to a one-year minimum deal. Yes, the same player who came in to the offseason looking for $25 million annually on a long term deal. And nobody batted an eyelid. This isn’t a Patrick-Williams-I-am-worth-thirty-million situation. That was his value on the open market, or at least close to it.
The Bucks had little to no room to do anything this offseason, with next to no draft capital remaining, and entrapped within the holy firestorm that they call the second apron. And yet, they walk away with not only one of the best role players on the market, who just happens to be a perfect fit with their squad, but they did it without losing…anything. Not that they had much to lose, to be fair.
