Don't Give Up On LaMelo Ball Just Yet

Have we forgotten how good LaMelo Ball really is?

LaMelo Ball has fast become one of the most controversial players in the NBA. For some, he is one of the best young players in the league. For others, he is a ‘losing player’, and the Hornets screwed up by throwing him over $200 million.

The truth? We don’t know. Logic would suggest it is somewhere in the middle, but we just haven’t seen enough of him over the last two years to really figure out what he is as an NBA player. He has played just 58 games over the last two years.

But to give up on him already would be irresponsible. If I told you two years ago that LaMelo Ball was not a winning player, you would look at me as if I just told you that Paul George is the GOAT (cough, cough, Brandon Miller, cough).

He had just become the second youngest player to ever make an All-Star game, and was 12 months removed from his Rookie Of The Year honour. He had dragged, as a rookie and sophomore, a dismal Hornets team, occasionally supported by Gordan Hayward (If you catch my drift) and Terry Rozier to the Play-In in back-to-back years. Sure, they got blown out in both appearances, but they were one of the youngest teams in the league.

So why do people consider him a losing player? Well, there are a multitude of reasons, and for the most part they are all, quite frankly, ridiculous.
